History
Aculco House was completed in 2017. PPAA Pérez Palacios Arquitectos Asociados designed the vacation home. It was conceived for two brothers. The site was discovered during a rock climbing trip; owners reforested the property prior to construction.
Architecture
The structure is minimalist and contextual. Local stone blocks, clay, wood, and glass form the construction. Materials remain in their raw state, without coatings. This design emphasizes a simple form.
Setting
The house stands in an isolated, rural area near Aculco, State of Mexico. Nature surrounds the site, with a lightly wooded area and impressive cliffs. Light casts sharp relief on the raw materials.
Specifications
House area: 90 square meters, 969 square feet.
