CDescription

History

Rozana Montiel Estudio de Arquitectura designed this prototype in 2018. It was developed for Mexico's INFONAVIT program. The design allows for progressive growth according to inhabitant needs.

Architecture

The structure is known as a house-portico. A bamboo frame forms the structure. Walls are bamboo bio-panels. A recycled poly-aluminum sloping roof covers the house. Floors are polished concrete. The structure rests on a concrete podium. It features a semi-open double-height kitchen and dining room.

Setting

The house stands in Xochitepec, Morelos, Mexico. Fruit trees and vegetation integrate with the structure. Its design respects local architecture. Daylight filters through surrounding foliage.

Specifications
